NAPA AUTO PARTS READING RACING REUNION & CAR SHOW PRESENTED BY LEE MYLES TRANSMISSIONS TO OPEN ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22

The 24th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Reading Racing Reunion & Car Show presented by Lee Myles Transmissions will take place at the Fairgrounds Square Mall on the 5th Street Highway in Reading, PA . The show dates are February 22 to February 28 and the Mall will be filled with race cars from various divisions. The Fairgrounds Square Mall sits on the property that was once home to the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway, offering some very special memories different than most other car shows. This year marks the 30th Anniversary since the sad closing of the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway. In special salute to Reading, the show will honor the many Racing Families and Generations of Families in racing. Many father and son and even grandfather and grandson combinations will be united for the fans in a Meet & Greet.

The 2009 Show will offer one of the most aggressive schedules of nightly activities of prior event. Driver interviews, HO scale slot car racing, a Book Signing, Photo Shoots and a Demo Car display by Smashmasters and a walking tour to find landmarks are just a few of the special events.

An added activity will include four Celebrity Bartender Nights, to take place at Ronies Exeter Cafe at 9th & Exeter in Reading, PA Ronies Exeter Cafe, also known as "Home of the Steak", is a full service bar and grill. Monday, February 23 through Thursday, February 26th will be Celebrity Bartenders Night at Ronies from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Ronies is open until 2 AM. Watch the nightly schedule of events for which celebrities will be tending bar at Ronies.

During the Reading Racing Reunion event, Randy's Raceway of Kutztown, PA will have an HO scale slot car race track open to the public all week. The track is a six lane oval that measures 4' x 24'. Racing will return to this famous property as Tuesday and Saturday night are scheduled racing competition nights. In fact, Saturday, February 28 will be the Pennsylvania Tyco Oval Championships and more information and entry details are available at : www.randysraceway.net.

A highlight of the show is the Friday night, February 27 Legends of Racing Reunion to take place at the center court stage of the Fairgrounds Square Mall, beginning at 7 PM. On this special evening, drivers, owners, and many people who influenced the reputation of the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway will be on hand for a meet and greet.

Following the Legends of Racing Reunion, the fun will move to the Temple Fire Company for the Annual BASH Racing Movie Party sponsored by Lee Myles Transmissions and Auto Care. The BASH will begin at 9 PM and continue until 1 AM. Plenty of racing movies, award presentations and music for dancing always make this event a fun night. Tickets are just $10 and may be purchased at the door or by calling Donna Miller at 443-513-4456.

On Saturday, join us at 2 PM by the stage at Center Court. We will begin a walking tour to find the landmarks of the Reading Speedway. We'll do our best to located the four turns, the location of the grandstand, the announcers stand and the all important, Reading victory lane.

The schedule of events will be updated daily as the show continues.
