CONTACT: BOB MILLER IRCO DIRT TRACK HEROES TO INVADE PHILLIPSBURG MALL ON SATURDAY, MARCH 7 The IRCO Community Federal Credit Union 2nd Annual Dirt Track Heroes Car Show will storm the Phillipsburg Mall for a nine day run, opening on Saturday, March 7 and running through Sunday, March 15. The Mall hours are 11 AM to 6 PM on Sunday and 10 AM until 9 PM Monday through Saturday. The Phillipsburg Mall is located on Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, NJ. More then sixty race cars from various divisions including restored cars will be on display. Each day of the show will offer celebrity interviews and meet and greet opportunities. Also, the nationally acclaimed CARQUEST Gasoline Alley TV/Internet Show with hosts Ed and Steve Pados and Randy Kane will take center stage each day of the show to interview the many legendary racing stars of the past and present to chat about their days behind the wheel as well as catch up with their plans for the upcoming racing season ahead. Join the Gasoline Alley Gang on Saturday, March 7th from 2:15 until 5:30 as they begin the show portion with a salute to one of the legendary sprint car driving talents of all time, Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee, Ray Tilley. Joining Tilley and a host of legendary drivers for the initial opening of the show will be one of the premier car owners of all-time. The legendary National Midget Hall of Fame car owner Ken Brenn Sr will be reunited with Tilley for the opening ceremonies of this must attend show. Ray Tilley was one of the first sprint car talents to ever sit behind the wheel of a Ken Brenn owned car when he raced for Brenn at Williams Grove in the mid-sixties. Brenn was the premier car owner from 1954 until 1972 when he left the Midget ranks to provide race cars for his son Ken Brenn Jr, who went on to have an outstanding career of his own in the dirt and pavement Modified ranks. All told Brenn won five ARDC car owner Championships while in competition and served as the President of the ARDC for two terms. Brenn was inducted into the National Midget Hall of Fame in 2007. Join Ray Tilley and Kenny Brenn Sr and Jr, Carl Collis, Sammy Beavers, Ray Neary, Ken Wismer Jr, Bill Wilson, Jimmy Maguire, Leroy Amey, Richie and Randy Smith, Carl "Fuzzy" Van Horn, Neil Kumernitsky, Bill DeCoster, Charley Gilmore, Tom Hager, Frankie Schneider, Billy Pauch, Bill Tanzosh, Tighe Scott, Bob Pickell, and a host of other great racers who will join in the celebration as the annual Mall show honors those who raced those long treasured and never forgotten raceways of yesteryear. Join longtime show hosts Ed and Steve Pados and Randy Kane as well as guest announcers Earl Krause, Tim Pitts, Jeff Ahlum and Bob Stull as the past, present and future stars of racing will be interviewed throughout each nightly portion of the show. An autograph session will take place during the course of each show for the fans to have a firsthand chat with the great racing stars past and present who have thrilled them with their tremendous driving abilities. New names are continuously being added daily to the growing list of attendees who will be joining in the celebration honoring the great racing heritage of such former racing facilities as Harmony, Nazareth, Reading, Flemington, Allentown, East Windsor, Hatfield and Dorney Park. Current operating racetracks such as New Egypt, Bridgeport, Orange County, Grandview, Hamlin, Borgers, and Snydersville will also take part in the nightly racing celebration. IRCO Community Federal Credit Union through the efforts of noted Harmony Speedway Historian Greg Collins has come back on-board as the show's title sponsor for the event. March 8th will find the legends of racing gathering at center stage at 1 PM for a taping of the CARQUEST Gasoline Alley TV/Internet Show that will be shown on Monday evening March 9th from 6 to 8 PM on Channels 103 and 137 and taped delayed on Channel 50 at 11 PM. The show now offers live video feed through the Internet at: www.walncableradio.com America on Wheels will be on hand to talk about their over the road transportation museum that is dedicated to presenting and preserving the history of American transportation, with special emphasis placed on the local area. Currently, there is a changing exhibit gallery which features "Legends of Speed", and is dedicated to Mario Andretti.
