George Abt is Legends King at New Egypt

New Egypt, NJ (May 4, 2008) -   George Abt of Bangor, PA drove to his
first victory at New Egypt Speedway on Sunday afternoon in the 20 lap
Keystone Legends Tour feature event. Abt started 2nd, but fell back
as far as 15th at the halfway point of the race. Then he discovered
the outside groove and charged back to the front in crowd pleasing
fashion taking the victory on the final lap. Abt had the crowd on
their feet as he passed the top 3 over the final three laps bringing
second place finisher Paul Rochelle with him on the outside. For the
final 3 laps, you could have thrown a blanket over the top five.  Tim
Henry nosed out Tim Tomson for third, and Stephen Nederostek was
fifth.

Rob Vivona made it two in a row taking the feature win in the 20 lap
600cc Micro Sprint feature. Vivona picked up where he left off last
week as he held off opening day winner Jeff Hartman for the victory.
Jimmy Carpenter came home third, followed by Johnny Carpenter and
Shane Lewis.

In a special 12 lap wingless 600cc Micro Sprint event, Johnny
Carpenter went from last to first to take the win. Rob Vivona looked
strong on the first lap, but then broke ending his bid for the sweep.
Rich Keller brought his #GO car home second followed by Jimmy
Carpenter third. Fourth was Rich McKay & Shane Lewis came home fifth.

The Crate-1 Sportsman were in competition and Bryan Papiez of Belle
Mead, NJ swept the two 10 lap events. Papiez used the final turn in
the second event to pass George Idell Jr. on the outside to complete
the daytime sweep. Idell Jr. settled for second in both events.

Next Sat. May 10th, it will be Mother's Day night, featuring the
Big-block Modifieds, A-1 Sportsman, Super Stocks, SS Sprints, Crate-1
Sportsman and the Advantage Financial/Cradle Rock Developers Rookie
