Twin 35's for Modifieds This Saturday at New Egypt

New Egypt, NJ- With a dismal forecast predicted for this past
Saturday, NES management decided to pull the plug early Friday
afternoon for both Saturday and Sunday's event.  "We really didn't
want to hold anyone up for the whole weekend so we decided to cancel
early.  There were just so many forecasts and every one of them
indicated that Saturday was going to be a complete washout," stated
track owner Bill Miscoski.

Sunday's Demolition Derby was also nixed on Friday
afternoon as well.  "It may have seemed a bit premature but canceling
Sunday's show was the right decision.  Even though Sunday's weather
was beautiful, there was no way we could have gotten race cars on the
track by 12:30pm for hot laps.it was just too wet."  New Egypt is
currently looking at some dates and will announce a suitable rain
date for Sunday's program.

This coming Saturday will be New Egypt's second to last
point night.  Headlining the program will be Twin 35's for the big
block modifieds.  Twin 20's were originally scheduled for this
Saturday, however there is still a 30-lap feature that has to be made
up.  It's been decided to take that 30 laps from May and split it up
and ad them between the twin 20's.   A brand new set of heat races
will be run for Saturday's features as the timed dashes from May 17th
have been scrapped.  The purses for both 35-lap events will be beefed
up considerably compared to the normal twin 20 payouts.  The
sportsman, super stock, crate-1, and outlaw stock divisions will also
be on the agenda this Saturday.

The following week will see all six classes in action on
"Championship Night" with double points on the line in all divisions.
Three-time track champion Billy Pauch and 2001 champ Keith Hoffman
are separated by a mere two points in the modified division heading
into this week's double feature program.  Ron John Koczon, Tim
Tanner, and Rick Laubach remain within striking distance, who are all
seeking their first NES track title.  Willie Osmun, Todd Cray, Art
Liedl, Rich Mongeau, and Richie Cass are the current leaders in their
respective divisions.

New Egypt then will remain dark for one week while many
of their competitors will head to Big Diamond Raceway for the
"Diamond Nationals".  Then NES comes back to life for their annual
"Rocktoberfest Weekend".  NES is looking forward to this big weekend
as they'll have eight divisions (four on each day).  October 4th will
feature the URC Sprint cars, open-comp 358 small blocks, super
stocks, and crate-1.  Sunday's show will be headlined by race #7 for
the Garden State Dual Track Series.  Joining the big block modifieds
will be the sportsman, ss sprints, and the outlaw stocks.  For
