New Egypt Speedway Celebrates Our Nationís Military This Weekend

New Egypt, NJ -- On Saturday, May 29, 2010, New Egypt Speedway will be hosting its annual Tribute to the Military Night sponsored by Joy Auto Parts to celebrate Memorial Day weekend. Headlining this yearís event is the Big Block Modified series, who will be running their first Twin 20 races of the year. Joining the modified series on the schedule will be the Sportsman, Outlaw Stock, and Rookie divisions.

This marks the return of the Big Block Modified Twin 20 races at New Egypt Speedway, which have not been run at the track since 2008. These two special races have the potential to mix up the point standings as they are designed to give title contenders like Rick Laubach, Keith Hoffman, Frank Cozze and last weekís feature winner Jimmy Horton a chance to catch current pointís leader Billy Pauch and second place Bobby Drayton.

As this is a weekend to honor our military all those who present an active military ID at the front ticket window will receive free general admission, while those who present a retired military ID will receive a discounted general admission price of $10. During the eveningís intermission, local members from the 605th Aircraft Squadron of the U.S. Air Force will be on hand to present our nationís colors before the singing of the National Anthem.

Not only will there be intense action on the racetrack with the return of the Twin 20ís, but there will also be many fan give-a-ways for children and adults during intermission.

Pit gates will be opening at 3 p.m. and the front gates will be opening at 4 p.m. The first 450 people through the front gates will receive a free Martin Truex Jr. lanyard and credential holder. Hot laps are set to begin at 5:15 p.m. with the first green flag at 6 p.m. Adults are $22, seniors 65 and older are $20, children 12-17 are $10 and children 11 and under are free.
