Wall Stadium to Sponsor New Egypt Speedway Opening Day

New Egypt, NJ – You hear it all the time.  Tracks should work together more often.  In today’s day and age you do see several tracks working together more and more with such things as cross promoting and series events being held at each other’s facilities.  However, have you ever heard of a dirt track and an asphalt track helping each other?  What’s even more intriguing is that these two race tracks race on the same night and are less than a half hour apart.

Wall Stadium will be working under a new regime in 2011.  Cliff Krause and his wife Diane have chosen to give Wall Stadium a second if not third or fourth chance at survival.  Krause and his hard working staff have given hope to the Wall Stadium faithful that Wall is back and here to stay.  The fans and drivers have a whole new attitude towards the facility as they should.

‘Even though Wall is a competitor of ours, the two tracks offer different styles of racing,” offered New Egypt Speedway general manager Danny Serrano.  ‘You never ever want to see a race track close down no matter what.  I’ve had the chance to get to know Cliff a little better over the last year and I can tell you one thing….The people at Wall are lucky to have him.  He doesn’t have to do any of this but he is.  He’s taking a chance because he loves racing especially Wall Stadium. ‘;

‘I’ve been on the phone with Cliff and have had talks with Sue Simpson since they announced that they were going to be operating the track in 2011.  Whatever advice I can offer, I’m glad to do so.  They’re good people and their heart is certainly in the right place.  I told Cliff that I’d be glad to help them in any way that I can, especially in recruiting some of the dirt cars for Turkey Derby in November.  Cliff is always asking me if there’s anything that he can do to help NES, as if he doesn’t have enough on his own plate resurrecting Wall.  We both got to talking and we came up with something that may have never been done before….one track sponsoring another.’;

After their open practice on Saturday, April 9, Krause and his gang will be shooting over to New Egypt Speedway for the NES opening night festivities.  They’ll be schedules and plenty of public address announcements regarding Wall Stadium and their upcoming season for all the fans.  Krause is no stranger to NES as Rick Laubach has driven to back to back modified track championships for the new Wall Stadium promoter.

‘I’ve always loved dirt racing and I still do.  New Egypt is where I’d be if I wasn’t running Wall,’ Krause admitted.  You have people that love dirt track racing and ones that love asphalt racing…I love both.  We want to put our name out there and let people know that Wall is not only back but much improved.  I figured what better way to get Wall’s name out there to some of the fans we may have lost.  Danny and I aren’t looking to hurt each other but rather help each other.  I have a big responsibility here with Wall but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to see New Egypt succeed either.  We have our core of fans and they have their core of fans so no one’s undermining anyone here…just a little cross promotion which I think is really different and pretty neat.  I figured that I’d be at New Egypt for their opener anyway so why not put Wall Stadium’s name out there, it couldn’t hurt right?’;

So when you come to New Egypt this coming Saturday, you’re eyes won’t be deceiving you…Opening Night will be brought to you by the neighboring Wall Stadium Speedway.  The gates open at 4pm with racing beginning at 6pm.  For more information you can log onto www.newegyptspeedway.net  or call 609-758-1900.  Wall Stadium will swing open their gates on April 16 for their season opener.  For more information regarding Wall Stadium please log onto www.wallspeedway.com or you can reach the speedway at 732-681-6400.
