It All Goes Down, At Sundown!. . . .
GREAT WEATHER TO WELCOME 11th Annual DIRTcar 100 LAP TRAFFIC JAM WEDNESDAY NIGHT, JULY 16 AT GRANDVIEW
The 11th Annual DIRTcar Big Block Modified 100 Lap TRAFFIC JAM will be
the main attraction on Wednesday night, July 16 as the NAPA Auto Parts
Thunder on the Hill Racing Series continues its' nineteenth season at
the Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA. Always a crowd please,
the Big Block Modifieds have a way of mixing up the action when they
enter the one-third mile high banked Grandview Speedway. Brett Hearn,
Billy Decker, Matt Sheppard, Alan Johnson are just a few of the DIRTcar
entries that will battle the best of Pennsylvania and New Jersey to
include Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard, Billy Pauch, Frank Cozze, Keith
Hoffman, Rick Laubach and Sam Martz. Of course, this night will also
mark the anticipated return of the legendary Kenny Brightbill, "the
Shillington Slingshot", as he makes his first big block race of the
season. BPG Racing & Chad Sinon are sponsor the return of Kenny
Brightbill as well as being sponsor of the 11th Annual TRAFFIC JAM.
Race time is set for 7:30 PM when the task of time trial qualifying will
take place. COMDIAL Telephone Communications has posted $200 for fast
time of the night. A series of qualifying heat race events and a
consolation will be part of the program. The Garden State Vintage Stock
Cars will offer a display plus some on track time.
One of the most exciting points of any race is the feature line-up and
the anticipation of the roar to the green flag. The thirty car starting
field will line-up on the homestretch and fans will then be allowed to
participate in the FANFEST, an opportunity for fans to meet the drivers
and see the cars up close, just prior to the start of the TRAFFIC JAM.
When the fans return to their seats, all track gates will be closed and
those famous words will echo across the "hill". . . Gentlemen, Start
YOUR Engines! With a hardy roar, the big block modifieds will slowly
pull away behind the pace car in search of the green flag. Hold on to
your seats and be prepared for the fireworks salute on the parade lap.
One-hundred laps later, will see who's standing on the Grandview podium
with their $6,000 check and champagne shower. Only at Grandview,
always at Thunder on the Hill, you'll see a show, not just a race.
