THUNDER SERIES CLOSES 19TH SEASON & TREATS FANS WITH SEVEN DIFFERENT WINNERS IN SUCCESSFUL HOUSE OF THUNDER HALLOWEEN PARTY AT GRANDVIEW

It was a cold night, but the racing action was hot, fast and furious as
the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series presented their
season finale at the Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. The
traditional Grandview Thunder 5-25's & the House of Thunder Halloween
Party entertained a big crowd with seven awesome feature events that
delivered seven different winners. One-hundred and thirty-one cars took
part in the night of "feature only" racing on the one-third mile
Grandview Speedway. Rodney Kistler won the opening feature of the
night, that being the 25 lap Ghostly Legends feature event. Kistler won
the event that ran off non-stop. Two ARDC Wingless Midget features were
on the program with Tracey Readinger taking the win in the twenty lap
make-up feature (from the June rain out) as Steve Buckwalter took the
win in the 25 lap ARDC Wingless feature. Butch Getz won a crowd
pleaser taking the victory in the twenty-five lap 600cc Modified
feature. Kyle Purks of Langhorne, PA won the URC feature as Doug
Manmiller won a thriller over Sean Merkel and Mike Gular. Paul Weaver
was the winner of the fifteen lap Garden State Vintage Stock feature
that saw fourteen cars take the green.

In the Rolling Thunder Legends feature event, Tim Bauer was the early
race leader with Jason Rochelle taking the lead on lap seven. Rodney
Kistler took the lead on lap twelve with Rochelle regaining the lead on
lap thirteen. With just five laps to go, Kistler caught Rochelle and
the battle for the lead was back on. Kistler took the lead but Rochelle
was all over him in the final laps. Kistler took the victory in the
non-stop feature event that saw Rochelle finish second followed by Steve
Nederostek and Frank Polimeda.

The second feature of the night was the twenty lap ARDC Wingless Midget
feature that was cancelled back in June. Steve Lenig set the pace for
the firs five laps with Tracy Readinger taking the top spot on lap six.
Readinger had to deal with several challenges from Steve Buckwalter and
Drew Heistand but at the drop of the checkered flag, Oley, PA diver
Steve Buckwalter rallied home for the in.

The 600cc Modified twenty-five lap feature, Butch Getz lend the entire
twenty-five lap distance followed by Mike Kepplel and Erick Whitebe.

A fourteen car field turned out for the Garden State Vintage stock cars
feature that went fifteen laps. Paul Weaver led the entire twenty-five
lap distance.

The Rislone URC Sprints were next for their twenty-five lap feature.
This event went non-stop with Kyle Purks of Langhorne, PA leading the
entire twenty-five laps. Jason Clauss made numerous challenges for
second until lap seventeen when Becca Anderson moved into second. By
lap nineteen JJ Grasso moved into third and both Anderson and Grasso
were chasing down the leader. With the checker flag waiving, Kyle Purks
took the win, his second career victory with URC as Anderson followed in
second with JJ Grasso third, Robbie Stillwaggon fourth and Michael
Carber fifth.

The feature finale was the 358 NASCAR Modifieds and this one was a
thriller. Mike Gular set the pace for the first nine laps with Sean
Merkel moving into the lead on lap ten. One lap later Gular returned to
the top spot and by lap thirteen, Merkel regained the top spot. In the
closing laps, Terry Meitzler moved into the chase, racing in third on
lap fourteen. Meitzler moved into second on lap sixteen and set his
sights on the leader. A caution flag on lap eighteen brought the field
together once again this time Doug Manmiller made the move from third to
take the lead on lap nineteen. One lap later, Merkel was again the pace
setter. With just two laps remaining Doug Manmlller took the lead and
held off a determined Sean Merkel for the final two laps. Mike Gular
finished third with Terry Meitzler fourth and MeMe DeSantis fifth.
