THUNDER ON THE HILL TO OPEN 2009 WITH KEYSTONE CUP 410 SPRINT SERIES WEDNESDAY, MAY 20


The twentieth season of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing
Series presented by Lee Myles Transmissions will officially open at the
Grandview Speedway on Wednesday night, May 20.    For nineteen years and
eighty-five events, the Thunder Series has grown in popularity by
presenting a variety of unique specialty shows to include different
divisions and formats as well.  The coming 2009 season will be no
different as fan friendly programs will remain the priority for the
Thunder Series, with continued support from COMDIAL  Telephone
Communications.   Divisions making their first  visit to Thunder on the
Hill  this year include the World of Outlaws Late Models on Thursday,
August 13, the Sportsman Modifieds will join the Grandview Thunder
5-25's on Saturday, October 17 and a Monster Smash Demolition will also
make its first appearance on the October 17 date as well. 

The 358 Modifieds will join the Wednesday, May 20 Keystone Cup 410
Sprint Speed Week Series date for the first time.  A new show on the
schedule is the Wednesday, July 15 Triple Crown Thunder Thriller.  A
three division program to offer a complete show of qualifying for the
358 Modifieds and URC Sprints, joined by a ARDC Wingless feature.   The
popular TRAFFIC JAM show will spotlight the World of Outlaws Late Models
and the popular Big Block Modifieds.  Both divisions will compete in a
series of qualifying events, leading up to  50 lap feature for both the
Late Models and Big Block Modifieds.

There is an exciting season planned for Thunder on the Hill and the
first green flag will drop on Wednesday night, May 20.    The always
exciting 410 sprint cars will be the showcase attraction along with the
358 Modifieds.  Fred Rahmer, Lance Dewease, Todd Shaffer, Greg Hodnett,
Stevie Smith are just a few of the expected entries for the opening
night Keystone Cup Speed Week Series.  The 358 Modifieds will compete in
qualifying and a twenty-five lap feature.  Doug "The Handler" Manmiller
seems to have the winning touch for the "Thunder" events and he'll be in
full force to chase the win.  Gates will open at 5:30 PM with race time
set for 7:30 PM.

General admission tickets are priced the same as prior years at $20 for
adults, $5 for children 6-11 and kids under the age of six will be
admitted for free.  The pit fee is $25 and license is not required.

The Thunder Series is presented exclusively at Bruce Rogers' Grandview
Speedway located on Passmore Road, just off route 100  in Bechtelsville,
PA (19505) , ten mile north of Pottstown.   Thunder on the Hill is
co-promoted by Speedway Owner Bruce Rogers and special events promoter
Bob Miller.   

Grandview Speedway  presents weekly Stock Car and Late Model racing
every Saturday night and opening day is set for  Saturday, April 4 at 7
PM.
