KEYSTONE CUP 410 SPRINTS & 358 MODIFIEDS TO OPEN 20TH
ANNIVERSARY THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES MAY 20 AT
The 410 sprints at Grandview Speedway is a show all alone, but when you
add the popular 358 Modifieds to the outing, well, it just can't get any
better then that. The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing
Series presented by Lee Myles Transmissions will kick off their 20th
Anniversary season on Wednesday night, May 20 and hold on to your
seats, the 410 Sprints and 358 Modifieds will be the twin division
headliners of the night. COMDIAL Telephone Communications will be on
hand to add some fan fun along with Troy Wink Motorsports, the sponsor
of the very popular "Joe the Pizza Dude". Special Guest and Living
Legend, Steve Smith, winner of the inaugural Thunder on the Hill Racing
Series event in August of 1990, will be on hand to celebrate the Twenty
Years of Thunder. Gates will open at 5:30 PM with qualifying getting
underway at 7:30 PM.
As operating costs have been on the rise everywhere, Thunder Series
Management is pleased to announce that the ticket prices will remain the
same as prior years for this event. Adults tickets are $20, Children
6-11 are $5 and children under the age of six will be admitted for free.
The Pit Fee is $25 and a license is not required to enter the pit area.
The top drivers of the 410 sprints will be on hand for not only the
Thunder Series opener, but the first race of the 3rd Annual Keystone Cup
Sprint Series. Grandview Speedway host the Keystone Cup opener that
will offer six races in six days, stretching over the Memorial Day
Holiday Weekend. With a series point fund on the line and a hefty
$5,000 payday to the winner, the roster of talent is sure to be
exciting. Look for Fred Rahmer, Lance Dewease, Doug Esh, Brian Leppo,
Alan Krimes, Stevie Smith, Greg Hodnett, Cody Darrah, Brian Montieth
and Alan Cole to be among the entries.
In a recent radio interview, World of Outlaw sprint driver Joey Saldana
said, "Driving a 410 sprint car at Grandview is like flying a jet
fighter in a high school gymnasium". With a quote like that, you sure
to see a wild 35 lap feature event.
Also on the program will be a complete show of 358 Modifieds. Competing
under weekly Grandview rules, the show is open to all competitors. A
series of heat race events and a consolation will lead up to the 25 lap
feature event for the modifieds. The gang will be here and the list
includes Doug Manmiller, Craig VonDohren, Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk,
Billy Pauch Sr and Billy Pauch Jr., Mike Gular, Kevin Hirthler, Doug
Hoffman, Jason Hamilton and a host of others.
Advance tickets for the May 20 Keystone Cup 410 Sprint Speed Week Series
and 358 Modifieds Double-header are on sale at this time. Adult tickets
are $20, Children 6-11 are $5 and Children under 6 will be admitted for
Free. Please make your check payable to Grandview Speedway and mail
your payment to Thunder Series 2009 11747 Winding Creek Drive
Berlin, MD 21811. Be sure to include a self-addressed and stamped
envelope and your tickets will be mailed to you. If you are
interested in purchasing your USAC Tickets for the June 2 event, Adult
admission is $25, Children 6-11 $5 and Children under 6 will be
admitted for free.
Advance tickets will also be on sale at Grandview Speedway on Saturday
night, May 9.

The Thunder on the Hill Racing Series takes place exclusively at the
Grandview Speedway. Grandview is a one-third mile high-banked dirt oval
located on Passmore Road, just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA 19505,
just ten minutes north Pottstown. For more information, call the

Saturday night from April to October and presents NASCAR Modified and
Late Model Stock Car Racing with a 7:30 PM starting time.
