The 2010 season for the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series could very well be the most diverse and variety filled campaign in the series history.

Since that initial race in August of 1990,  ninety-one Thunder on the Hill events were presented on the Grandview Speedway one-third mile oval.   The 2010 Thunder Series has something for everyone from the powerful 410 Sprints to the Super DIRT Series Big Block Modifieds, the USAC Wingless Sprints, World of Outlaws Late Models, ROC Modifieds & Sportsman, URC Sprints,  358 Modifieds, ARDC Midgets and Legend cars.   Add to the hefty roster  the Garden State Vintage Stock Cars, a Monster Smash Demo Derby and the annual end-of-the season Halloween Party and you pretty much have it all.

The Thunder Series started when sprint car driver Dave Kelly brought together Grandview Speedway owner  Bruce Rogers and racing publicist Bob Miller with the idea of presenting a 410 sprint car race at Grandview.   The Thunder Series  started as just a standalone 410 sprint show, drawing big crowds,  top drivers and some real nail biting, edge of your seat racing.   After just a couple seasons, the 410 sprint shows remained thrillers, but Rogers and Miller knew it was time to make some tweaks to the Series to keep it new, exciting and  entertaining.   Over time,  Thunder on the Hill has certainly evolved into so much more.  Nationally recognized drivers,  regional stars and local driving talents now fill the pit area for every Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event.  It is beyond a race, it's a happening!

In 2010, the opening Thunder Show is set for Wednesday night, May 26 and  will feature the 410 Sprints in the Keystone Cup Speed Week Series, a 35 lap $5,000 to win main event.  The Sportsman will be on the card presenting a series of qualifying events, a consolation and a 20 lap feature.   Back by popular demand is the USAC National Wingless Sprint Tour on Tuesday night, June 1.  USAC will share the card with the ARDC Wingless Midgets making this event a spectacular wingless open wheel double-header.

The 12th Annual Super DIRT Series TRAFFIC JAM will make a return to the "hill" on Tuesday night, June 15.   The best in  the world of big block modifieds will go one-hundred laps with a roster to include Billy Decker, Matt Sheppard, Alan Johnson and Brett Hearn as they take on local favorites  Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard,  Jimmy Horton, Frank Cozze and Rick Laubach.  A twenty lap feature Invitational for Sportsman will be on the program along with the always popular  Garden State Vintage Stock Cars.

On Tuesday, June 29 the Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week Series will storm Grandview joined by the 358 NASCAR Modifieds in a complete show of qualifying, leading up to the twenty-five lap feature event.

A first time visit by the  ROC (Race of Champions) Modifieds and Sportsman is set for Wednesday night, July 14.   The ROC on the Hill event will showcase the Modifieds in  a 60 lap feature as the Sportsman battle the high-banks for 40 laps.

The return of the World of Outlaws Late Models will take place at Grandview on Wednesday night, August 18.   Also on the program will be a complete show for the 358 NASCAR Modifieds.  This was the must see event of 2009 and is expected to be a crowd pleaser again in 2010.

The Thunder Series season finale will be the Annual House of Thunder Halloween Party on Saturday night, October 16.  The feature's only format will include the 358 NASCAR Modifieds, URC Sprints, ARDC Wingless Midgets, Sportsman and the Legend Cars.   The Garden State Vintage Stocks will be on the program along with a MONSTER SMASH Demo Derby to close out the season.
