SOME SAY THE BIG BOYS ARE COMING TO GRANDVIEW, OTHERS SAY. . . . THEY ARE ALREADY THERE!
SUPER DIRTcar SERIES BIG BLOCK MODIFIEDS RETURN TO GRANDVIEW TUESDAY, JUNE 15 FOR THE 100 LAP TRAFFIC JAM. IT'S ROAD RAGE WITH 800 HORSEPOWER BIG BLOCK WEAPONS!
Whenever the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds head to Grandview, you'll hear the statement, "the big boys are coming to town". But some will disagree, saying the big boys race on the "hill" every Saturday night.
Regardless if you are a favorite of the Grandview stars and cars, or the DIRTcar heroes, one thing you can be sure of, it always gets "wild on the hill" when they come together. Tuesday night, June 15 that is exactly what will happen as the Super DIRTcar Series invades Grandview Speedway for the 100 Lap Traffic Jam. The best of the best in the world of big block modified racing will face off in a series of qualifying that will lead up to the 100 lap TRAFFIC JAM. Gates will open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM. This event will mark the third NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event of 2010 at Grandview Speedway.
Joining this always impressive racing program will be a 20 lap Sportsman Invitational Feature. The twenty-four sportsman drivers who qualified for the May 26 feature, are invited back to do it again. On May 26, the twenty lap Sportsman feature was a barn burner that went non-stop with Craig Whitmoyer taking the victory. Drivers are asked to confirm their entry by calling 443-513-4456 before June 10. Also on the program will be a feature race for the Garden State Vintage Stock cars, always an entertaining event that so nicely salutes the cars and drivers of our racing history.
Tuesday night, June 15 will mark the 13th Annual running of the 100 Lap TRAFFIC JAM. Past winners of the TRAFFIC JAM include Brett Hearn (2009, 2007, 2002, 1998), Billy Decker (2008, 2003), Alan Johnson (2006), Tim Fuller (2005), Tim McCreadie 2005, 2001) Frank Cozze (2000) and Jimmy Horton in 1999.
Local Grandview favorites in the hunt to win the TRAFFIC JAM include Duane Howard, driving the BPG #4 entry along with Ryan Godown, red hot Craig Vondohren, Jeff Strunk, MeMe DeSantis, Doug Manmiller, Sean Merkel, Mike Gular and John Wilman to name a few. Area invaders include Rick Laubach, Jimmy Horton, Billy Pauch and Frank Cozze. DIRTcar drivers include defending Rite Aid 200 winner Matt Sheppard of Waterloo, NY along with Billy Decker, Dale Planck, Michael Storms, Pat Ward, Billy Dunn, Justin Haers, Danny Johnson and Stewart Friesen just to name a few.
Adult admission prices for the 13th Annual Traffic Jam are $22, children 6-11 $10, our little friends under the age of 6 will be admitted free.
