Thunder on the Hill Racing Series Continues. . . . . . .

The 13th Annual 100 Lap TRAFFIC JAM will return to the Grandview Speedway for the third race of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series of 2010. Always a popular event, there have been numerous storybook finishes at the drop of the checker flag for this one and Tuesday's race should be no different.

Big Block Modified time trials and heat race qualifying will build the excitement for the $6,000 to win 100 lap TRAFFIC JAM slug fest. Also on the program will be a twenty lap Sportsman invitational feature along with a feature event for the Garden State Vintage Stock Cars. Race time is set for 7:30 PM with gates opening at 5 PM. Plenty of fan fun is planned, included the annual "Fan Fest" that we do for this always special event. Weather permitting, the TRAFFIC JAM starting line-up will be called to the homestretch for driver introductions. During that time, the grandstand race fans are invited to go onto the speedway to meet their favorite drivers and grab an autograph before the drop of the green flag.

A special Super DIRTcar Series "Champions " autograph session will kick off the pre-race activities behind the main grandstands at 4:45 PM. Past winners of the TRAFFIC JAM are expected to be part of the meet and greet and include Jimmy Horton, Brett Hearn, Frank Cozze, Billy Decker and Alan Johnson. Also behind the grandstands you'll have the opportunity to meet some of the Sportsman Young Guns, sponsored by BFP Specialty and Joe Adams Lettering. Other top stars expected to be in the field include Rite Aid winner Matt Sheppard, Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk, Craig VonDohren, the "Quaker Shaker" Rick Laubach, Kevin Hirthler, Doug Manmiller and possibly a visit by local favorite and Berks County legend, Kenny Brightbill.

Thunder on the Hill announcer Jeff Alhum will share the microphone with top notch DIRTcar Announcer Shane Andrews and they will be joined by avid race fan Jamie Weaknecht of Club WAGO. The JMAN will make his announcing debut at the 13th Annual TRAFFIC JAM. "I want to do this because I've known racing all my life and want to be a part of it. I want to experience it from every angle. I've seen it through the eyes of a fan and a reporter, now it's time to make the next step". JMAN continued to say, " Plus, come on, what little kid doesn't pretend to announce when he's playing with his die cast cars, or watching a race on television all by himself. I'm thrilled to finally get this chance to fulfill a dream of mine, but at the same time, I'm scared to death. I know that it's incredibly difficult to try to get the crowd pumped up and ready for the event, while still keeping them educated about what's going on, and without coming across as annoying. I just hope that I do a respectable enough job that I can get a few compliments, and do it again in the future".

Fans are also invited to take part in the Inside/Out Promotion, an activity that allows general admission fans to watch the warm-ups from inside the fourth turn. It's totally FREE and a real experience to feel the ground rumble when the 800 horse power big block modifieds put the pedal to the metal. To take part, just sign up at the Will Call window before 6:30 PM.

A beach ball bounce, the Rhyme Time Competition and the introduction of THUNDER-0, a new fan interactive activity will also spark some fun on race night. Be sure to meet Ms. Thunder on the Hill Cassi Pinder, try to get a Pizza from JOE the PIZZA Dude and be sure to meet the Round Table Girls. An event t-shirt and program book is available for this show. Many of these special activities and prizes are arranged by Jim Gallagher of COMDIAL Telephone Communications. Remember, after every Thunder on the Hill event, fans are invited to take part in the always joyous victory lane ceremonies, then visit pit area to congratulate their favorite driver.
