WINK MOTORSPORTS WELCOMES ANOTHER NEW DRIVER

TO ITíS MODIFIED STABLEÖ PLUS WMS DECIDES TO LIMIT

ITíS RACING AT GRANDVIEW FOR THE REST OF THE 2008

April 20th, 2008, Leesport, PA:  After only three weeks into the 2008 racing season Driver Troy Wink who made his comeback last season after a 19 year hiatus from the sport has decided to make some big changes in the Wink Motorsports Operation.  Per my phone conversation with the ever popular driver of the #27 Modified, Troy wants to let everyone know that plans are already in place, and actually as Iím busy typing this release another Teo Pro car is being worked on that will be driven by a new driver that will debut his WMS ride at Big Diamond Raceway, either this coming Friday, or the following Friday, depending on how things all come together.

The car is going to be raced in the Modified division, and it will carry the #127, and of course it will be powered by a brand new Lombardo, Chevrolet 358 race engine.  The cars graphics and color have yet to be determined, but Troy has hinted that the car will fit into the same look at his #27, and that of Doug Manmillers #00.  This is a huge move in the WMS camp, and Team Owner Donna Wink put many hours of thought into making this decision, combined with taking in valuable input from husband Troy, and Team Crew Chief Brad Reinert.

The new driver of the #127 will be Troy Wink Jr., better known to his friends as T.J., who just over the fall and winter took on the job of assistant Crew Chief, and was being taught by not only Brad Reinert, but also by his Father on what you need to know so that you have a properly prepared racecar each week.  T.J. is a senior at Schuylkill Valley High School, and will be graduating in just a few short weeks.  Although T.J. has never raced in competition he has shown great interest in wanting the chance to learn, and also follow in his Fathers foot steps, and you never know, like Troy said to me over the phone, you just never know, maybe he will be a natural.  The bottom line is this, like his Father Troy, T.J. just wants to have fun, learning as he goes, and yes becoming competitive, but most of all he is living each day to the fullest, and if you never met this young man take it from me, he gives you something to smile about.

Another major announcement from WMS has the team limiting its travels to Grandview Speedway and will most likely only race there on a part time basis for the remainder of the season.  Troy has expressed even though itís one of his favorite tracks to race at, he also stated that he had two cars torn up already in just 3 weeks of racing at the track.  Plus factoring in the addition of T.J. who will be running only at Big Diamond the team knows they will be more then busy having two Modifieds ready for each Friday night.  Itís nothing against Grandview, you can get torn up at any track, itís just been our bad luck early on, so we have decided to concentrate on the 3 car effort at Big     Diamond, Wink told me over the phone.
