Press Release: Jim Young Race Photos 3/20/2009

One of Dirt Track racing’s nicest guys has finally received recognition for his racing endeavors. New Jersey native Bucky Barker, famous for his driving talent, mild manners and his size, has been forever immortalized through the efforts of his family and Racing Photographer Jim Young.

The Pluckemin, New Jersey driver raced weekly with the best of the best in modified and sprint car action. For over four decades Bucky turned left at many famed racing facilities throughout the northeast. Flemington, Harmony, Nazareth, East Windsor, Middletown, Trenton, and Harrington, Delaware are just a few that have Barkers tire tracks imbedded in their history.

Many Thanks go out to the Barker family for opening their minds and hearts and scrapbooks to make this possible. Although Bucky was not the big winner that racing fans flocked to at the end of a hard nights racing, he was always the show. Week in and week out Barker made every race possible and gave it his all.

“I am very proud to have a tribute page dedicated to Bucky Barker on my website” states Racing Photographer Jim Young. “Danny Barker and I have talked about this for some time. Now it has become a reality” says Jim. “A more deserving candidate could not be found”.           More information will be added as time progresses and a great story on Barker’s career will be added in the next month or so.
