4 Star Motorsports suffers loss of racing assets

Vernon, New Jersey – Monday, September 21, 2009 -  As many of you know, events over this past weekend caused Vinnie Salerno’s 4 Star Racing Team to lose the majority of his racing operation. A long time fixture on the northeast dirt racing scene, the 4 Star Team has represented our sport with class, dignity, and professionalism for almost two decades. They are super people that have helped fellow racers many times in the past both at the track and at their shop.

All the contents in the trailer were taken including two complete race cars, mounted wheels and tires, spare parts, tools, etc. Even the safety helmets were taken. Fortunately the truck and trailer were found before any additional damage was caused.

As a result, we’re reaching out to the racing community in an effort to help the Salerno family minimize the impact this has had on not only his race team but to also address the personal hardship cause by such a significant monetary loss that can never be recovered through insurance, etc. Many of our suppliers have and continue to step up and contribute to help mitigate these losses. We ask for your help in two ways. First, anyone with any information pertaining to the events that led to this theft please come forward. A $20,000 reward had been posted for information leading to the return of these items. Second, donations are being accepted to help the Salerno family recover from this devastating loss with the goal being to return to the racing scene in full force. Donations can be made to Four Star Motorsports, Inc. 5 Washburn Lane, Stony Point, NY 10980 or by calling (845) 591-7254. Thank you for your support.
